Will Hayes, cellist

Music for special occasions and private lessons

About Me

Hello, my name is Will Hayes, Cincinnati Conservatory (CCM)graduate and past student performer at Chautauqua Institution, NY, and the Aspen Music Festival.  Among my teachers and coaches, I have learned in person from the world's finest; among them: cellists Zara Nelsova, David Finckel, Yehuda Hanani, Sara Sant'ambrogio, snd Richard Aron,; choral conductor Robert Shaw; chamber ensembles: Tokyo String Quartet, Cleveland Quartet, Emerson Quartet, and the La Salle Quartet.

Playing cello, singing, or conducting for audiences around the globe, I've appeared in concerts with Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and Grammy living legend Rod Stewart; "the Jimi Hendrix" of the violin, Eileen Ivers, of Riverdance fame; and, in orchestras across the United States, including the Middletown Symphony, OH; Richmond Symphony, IN; Lawton Philharmonic, and Enid Symphony, OK; Wyoming Symphony; Las Cruces Symphony, NM; and the Schenectady Symphony, NY.  I have enjoyed singing in auditioned vocal ensembles, as well, including the Cheyenne Chamber Singers, WY, and ArtSong, AL, or as vocal soloist, e.g. - First Presbyterian Church, Albany, NY.  As a conductor, I've worked with church and collegiate choirs and orchestras in PA, OH, AL, and NY.

It has become my ongoing privilege teaching many talented students over several decades, ranging from kindergarten through retirement age, as a certified public school music educator, guest clinician, math and language arts tutor, or private lesson teacher in PA, OH, OK, SC, WY, CO, NM, AL, and NY.

I'm looking forward to sharing music with you, too!!

Will and his wife, Deborah.
